A New Era of Superteams in the NBA?

THe 2003-04 Lakers
The latest Superteam in The NBA

Gone are the days when superstars would rather play on their own and have a supporting cast around them to win the Championship by themselves, or has it really?

we've been hearing a lot of how wrong it is for Dwayne wade, Le Bron james and Chris bosh to team up in south beach, about how wrong it is to have sroo much talent in one team , so much so that it robs other teams of opportunities to compete for a championship, Are you for real??

Looking back at the 2004 NBA Finals, when Shaq and Kobe, two legitimate Superstars recruited Karl Malone and Gray Payton to join them at the Staples center everyone thought they would steamroll thier way to the all time wins record during the regular season and win the NBA finals. What actually happened was they were pushed by Kevin Garnnet’s Timberwolves to 6 games before being Eventually outplayed by the Detroit pistons who at that time were not playing with a superstar.

So does Miami’s acquisition of three superstars in their prime make them an automatic dynasty in the making? or are they being set up for heartbreak after heart break( wilt chamberlain's Lakers)

The Spill over effect is that every other contender has been retooling to face this team. The Celtics have added Shaquille O' Neal and Jermaine O' Neal to their roster while the Lakers have added to their bench to make them even stronger. The Knicks have been rumoured to send feelers out to check on the availability of Tony Parker, Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul in efforts to maybe create their own version of a super team, this can’t bode well for the league as the richer teams will be able to go beyond the luxury tax to get their championship...watch this space....
